Get a head start on strengthening your community in 2019 with our End-of-Term Checklist
1. Ensure your App Download Instructions are up-to-date
We’ve updated our Download Instructions to ensure your community can easily access SkoolBag and find your school.
If you haven’t done so already, ensure you place a link to this page on your school’s website:
2. Send a reminder to your community to update to the SkoolBag app
We’ve updated our Resources with new assets to encourage your community to download SkoolBag and perfect their settings.
3. Invite new parents to download the app
Why not get a head start on next year and get new enrolments familiar with SkoolBag. The User Upload feature is the best way to invite new school parents to download the app.
Upload a list of users and their emails and they will be sent an invite to download the app and create their account.
You can set user's Group Access using this method, meaning their app will be setup correctly when they login for the first time.
You can then see the status if invited users via the User Tab.
4. Add your staff as Group Managers
Our Post from App feature unlocks a host of new possibilities for how you use SkoolBag.
Imagine letting your sports staff send updates on matches from the sidelines?
Or sending last minute weather updates from the playground?
Group Managers have the ability to post updates with photos to their Groups from the app. To ensure complete control other other areas of your app, Group Managers cannot post to Categories or other settings.
To make a user a group manager, simply find the relevant user via the user tab and toggle on their Group Manager setting. Read more.
5. Prepare to update your Groups for next year
With the new school year, you'll need to ensure parents are subscribed to the correct Year Groups.
There are a number of ways to do this which we've outlined below (it's a good task for the holidays!).
Option A: Instruct to check & update their settings
The easiest way to do this is to post a reminder for users to update their settings based on students' new year groups. Here's an image to go with your post, simply right-click and "Save As".
Option B: Update the name of year groups
This works well when all groups from this year will remain the same for next year. You can simply re-name the year group and users do not need to do anything.
Just ensure you let your parents know that this will happen.
Option C: Clear all users from groups
If you want complete control over your Year Groups, you can remove all users from Groups.
And then EITHER add them to their new group OR instruct them of the Group Password via email.
6. Create a Staff Noticeboard Group
Password protected Staff Groups are a fantastic way to keep your staff informed of important updates and messages.
If you haven't done so already, set up a Staff Group to ensure you can post app notifications and emails to staff members in an instant.
7. Book a one-on-one refresher session
