Getting started with SkoolBag? Here's a list of the basics to get you started. If you are a school who have been with us for a while but looking to refresh your SkoolBag account, here's how:
1. Get some help - Invite admins
Help your school get started with SkoolBag by sharing the responsibility of getting your community onboard, posting content, creating and editing eNewsletters, creating eForms, and more.
Contact support@skoolbag.com.au and request training for new Admins.
2. Make it yours - Set a background image
Make your school's SkoolBag page your own by setting a background image so that your community knows they are in the right place.
3. Set up Content Categories for important info
For your Content Categories, think about notices that need to shared to all of your community, as everyone will receive a notification for these. Some examples could be: Notes to Parents | Events | Newsletters | Links to other important services.
4. Setup Content Groups for targeted messages
Ensure Content Groups are set up by Year and Activities such as sports and other extra-curricular activities. Groups are used for notices and communications that aren't for everyone but are more specifically targeted.
5. Save hours of Admin - Setup eForms
Reduce the traffic to your school's phone line and have parents send in absentee notes via SkoolBag's eForms.
6. Populate your app - Send Welcome Message
make sure your SkoolBag app isn't empty before getting your community onboard, consider sending a welcome message like this: ‘Hi there, Mountain View PS is now using SkoolBag to keep their community up to date on school’s initiatives, please ensure you have notifications switched on and regularly update your SkoolBag App to ensure you are accessing the latest. We are now accepting eForms for absentees so there is no need to call the school anymore. Thank you'
Once you have completed the above steps the basic setup of your school's SkoolBag account is complete!
