1 How to send a notification to everyone
a. Send simple notification
.
Open the Admin Console, select ‘Quick Compose’, enter your content and select to send a notification by email and/or push notification to the community's mobile phone. Click here to see how it works.
b. Attach PDFs, Videos or Forms to the notification
Open the Admin Console, select ‘Quick Compose’, enter your content, select ‘Show Advanced Options’ and ‘Add Attachments or image’. Select your documents or images to upload To attach, links or forms select ‘Add eform, video, map or weblink’. If the attachment is required to be printed, send the notification as an email as well as a push notification. Click here to see how it works.
Top tip: To attach MP4 videos, upload to Google Drive and attach to your SkoolBag notification as a 'web link'.
2. How to collect feedback from the community
a. Enable text or email responses on posts
Open the Admin Console, select ‘Quick Compose’, enter your content, select ‘Show Advanced Options’, and choose ‘Reply Options’. Entering an email address or phone number will allow your community to reply directly to posts via text or email. Click here to see how it works from the SkoolBag app.
b. Create and send forms
Open the Admin Console, select ‘eForms’ from the left-hand side menu, choose to create a form or use one of the templates. Click here for a video on how to create a COVID-19 feedback form to share with your community.
3. How to send notifications directly from the SkoolBag mobile app
If you are a Global Admin, or a Restricted Admin with access to post content, or a Group Manager, you will have the ability to post from the SkoolBag App. Open the SkoolBag App on your mobile device, go to your school’s homepage and click to the +(plus) icon at the bottom of the page. Note: Posts sent from the SkoolBag App will send push notifications only.
4. How to set up Class Groups
a. How to create Class Groups
If you are a Global Admin or a Restricted Admin with access to creating groups, select ‘Content Groups’ from the left-hand side menu from here, select ‘Add New Group’, give the group a name and save.
b. Encourage parents to subscribe to groups
Send a simple notification to your community informing them, that there are Class groups for them to join. Click here to see how South DalbyState School, Prep - 6 with 600 students in Queensland have achieved it.
4. c. Setting up Groups: How to subscribe parents to groups
I. Individually - As a Global Admin, or a Restricted Admin with access to managing users, select ‘Users’ from the left-hand side menu. Select the people to be in this group, and select ‘Add to Group’.
II. In bulk - As a Global Admin, or a Restricted Admin with access to managing users, select ‘Users’ from the left-hand side menu. From here, select ‘Import Users’ on top right, and choose ‘Click here to download a CSV file with a list of your existing users.”. Edit the document to ensure there are no duplicate names on the list and the groups are assigned correctly. Save and upload the document back to the Admin Console by clicking ‘Choose File’ and ‘Next’. Click here to see how it works.
5. Enable Class Parents and Teachers to post to the SkoolBag App
To enable Class Parents and Teacher to post to the SkoolBag app, they need to have an assigned Group Manager role in the Console. Group Managers have access to a restricted version of the SkoolBag Console, they will only see and post in the groups where they have been given access to post to. To make someone a Group Manager, select ‘Users’ from the left-hand side menu, select ‘Edit’ beside the user’s name and from the list of Groups, turn Group Manager ‘On’ for the group you want.
